Emollient Acacia Decurrens Flower Wax imparts moisture and assists with barrier protection from irritants.  It also aids in naturally thickening skincare formulas. EWG ranking: 1


Used widely for centuries, Aloe is loaded with more than 75 vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants. It gently calms, cools, and moisturizes the skin. It has been used in Aryurvedic medicine to treat chronic skin conditions. EWG ranking: 1-3 (depending on usage)

Avocado Oil
is lightweight, but rich in Vitamins A, C, D, and E and fatty acids. It is an excellent source of enrichment for dry, damaged, or chapped skin and softens even the most sensitive skin. It is recognized by nutritionists globally for its moisturizing and protective properties. EWG Ranking: 1

Calendula Officinalis Flower
is an extremely gentle herb with powerful restorative ability.  Antioxidant-rich with antibacterial properties, it is ideal for soothing parched, inflamed, itchy, and irritable skin. It is often noted for its effect on inflammation and tissue regeneration. EWG ranking: 1

Castor Oil
is a vegetable-derived emollient that is high in Omega 3 fatty acids and has humectant properties that help lock moisture into skin. It is sometimes used in the treatment of various skin conditions. It has been known to effectively fight bacteria and help reduce appearance of inflammation. EWG Ranking: 2

Dead Sea Salt
is harvested in Israel and is actually low in Sodium and loaded with minerals.  Its high content of Magnesium actually helps skin retain necessary moisture and its potent Potassium is known to assist in keeping skin balanced. EWG Ranking: 1

Grapeseed Oil
is highly regarded as a non-comedogenic moisturizer for infants.  It is high in linoleic acid, vitamin E, and phenolic compounds and has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial benefits. It is ideal for fragile skin.

Jojoba Oil
contains vitamins B and E and is loved for its emollient and moisturizing properties.  It has been shown to be effective in enhancing absorption of other oils and has been widely used to help reduce the appearance of inflammation and comfort skin conditions.  It also helps create a protective barrier from external irritants. Milk Thistle
conditions and relieves skin while helping to provide a natural moisture barrier. Its esters are rich in flavonoids, linoleic acid, and Vitamin E. It is also used to help reduce the appearance of redness in skin. EWG Ranking: 1

A thoroughly-nourishing, “dry” oil, Moringa is a rich source of fatty acids and trace minerals. It has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and absorbs readily into the skin. The National Institutes of Health have supported the nutritional and health benefits of Moringa through extensive research. EWG Ranking: 1

Non-Nano Zinc Oxide
features uncoated particles that do not penetrate the bloodstream.  It has astringent properties that can be absorbed into the skin to help remedy irritation while maintaining a physical barrier from moisture and friction. It is revered for immune-boosting protective properties. Nano particles are known to penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream.  Non-nano do not. EWG Ranking: 2-3 (depending on usage)

Rice Bran
is used a natural, gluten-free, non-comedogenic vegetable extract, oil, or wax used to bind oils.  In wax and oil form it has emollient properties and acts as a protective barrier to help reduce moisture loss. It is rich in free radical scavenging antioxidant properties. EWG Ranking: 1-3

Native to Africa, Shea is a rich moisturizer, loaded with vitamins A, E, and F.  Its fatty acids and emollients help nourish and smooth skin and it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is known to improve symptoms of various skin conditions and to help accelerate healing. EWG Ranking: 1

High-linoleic Sunflower Oil is non-comedogenic and rich in Vitamin E and Omega 6.  Known for anti-inflammatory properties, it is also used to help retain moisture in skin. EWG Ranking: 1

Vegetable Glycerin
gently nourishes and softens skin.  It is a humectant that attracts and seals in moisture to help combat dry or irritated skin. EWG Ranking: 1

Plant-derived Vitamin E (Tocopherol) is a potent antioxidant used therapeutically to moisturize skin, quieting irritation and providing a protective barrier to minimize damage from free radicals. EWG Ranking: 1
  • Caprylyl Glycol – anti-microbial skin conditioning agent derived from Coconut Oil. EWG Ranking: 1
  • Cetearyl Alcohol – an emollient, emulsifying agent derived from Coconut Oil. EWG Ranking: 1
